A brief on How to

How do this or how to do that? Are the questions plaguing the minds of the human beings? It helps in providing the detailed information for the seeker of information.  It also helps in the ways of doing the thing. It can be a book or an advice or a direction or simply a map to reach at a particular location.  How-to’s can range from brief directions that aid in performing a task with which one is unfamiliar to full-length books, generally intended to assist or inspire life-changing methods and attitudes. They occur in the "self-help" genre, business books, and the hobby industry.

Perhaps the best known full-length book in the genre is How to Win Friends and Influence People, written by Dale Carnegie.How-to manuals have existed in some form for as long as people have spoken to each other. Before writing, they took the form of instruction in oral tradition. The older generation taught the younger through proverbs and parables, and when languages became written, these were written down.

When writing was invented and people learned to read, people began writing down their oral teaching traditions. This was the birth of the how-to manual. Eventually, the genre broadened to include instructions for more than just common life skills. Prior the advent of internet there were many authors who have written books which contained information about how to do different things even how to live in this world. The Renaissance saw a new birth of the how-to manual. Even during the dark ages people were writing and there is availability of huge literature which will act as an evidence in understanding the type of activity that has taken place. We should know that importance and benefit of these academic and practical pursuits.  As time advanced, how-to manuals broadened to the form that we see commonly today: texts giving instructions for various pursuits, like drawing, painting, swimming, and other hobbies. Now, these manuals are both printed and on the internet, and are easily accessed by everyone.

Internet boom has created many organizations to create how to pages to help the general public to gain the answers to their queries.  The pages are in great demand due to the explosion of information and the geographical expansion of the cities.  Many people have appreciated and used the information provided by the “How to” articles.  The purpose of this blog is to help the people in guiding to the right information for their informational needs.
